Job Summary:
- The Sales Manager - SMCG will be responsible for overseeing and directing the sales activities for our SMCG division.
- This role involves developing and implementing sales strategies to achieve revenue targets, managing a team of sales professionals, and ensuring the alignment of sales initiatives with Farmley's overall objectives.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales management within the SMCG sector, exceptional leadership skills, and a track record of driving growth and achieving results.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sales Planning:
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies and plans to achieve sales targets and drive growth in the SMCG sector.
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities and threats.
- Collaborate with senior management to set sales goals and performance metrics.
Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales professionals to maximize their performance and productivity.
- Provide ongoing training, coaching, and support to ensure the team has the skills and knowledge to succeed.
- Conduct performance reviews, set individual and team goals, and implement action plans for improvement.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and partners.
- Address and resolve customer issues and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Sales Operations and Reporting:
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, including tracking sales metrics, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Prepare and present regular sales reports and performance summaries to senior management.
- Utilize CRM systems and other tools to manage sales activities and customer interactions effectively.
Market Development and Expansion:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and market segments to drive sales growth.
- Oversee the development and execution of promotional campaigns, trade shows, and other marketing initiatives.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to align sales strategies with marketing efforts and brand messaging.
Compliance and Best Practices:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
- Implement best practices in sales processes and operations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a Sales Manager or similar role in the SMCG sector.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing sales strategies, managing teams, and achieving targets.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
