Pixxel is a space data company building the health monitor for our planet. We are doing that by building a constellation of some of the world’s most advanced earth imaging satellites and the analytics platform that will enable easy application of that data across a multitude of sectors. The fully deployed constellation will be capable of beaming down high quality imagery of every place on earth every day.

The systems engineer is skilled in the art and science of balancing organizational, cost, and technical interactions in complex systems. Systems engineering involves technical tradeoffs and compromises. It is about looking at the “big picture” and not only ensuring that they get the design right (meet requirements) but that they also get the right design (enable operational goals and meet stakeholder expectations).

  • Management of a project for the development and qualification of a satellite system
  • End to end product realization process including design, integration, verification & validation, and transition to operational team
  • Engineering and verification of system requirements
  • Engineering trade study and compliances, technical trade-offs and risk management
  • System design and interface control (mechanical, electrical, electronics, software)
  • Subsystem selection, procurement and qualification
  • Engineering configuration and change management and tracking
  • Setting up reviews and planning milestones and gateways to track design progress
  • Planning and reviewing Concept of Operations
  • Management support of the activities of system Manufacture, Assembly, Integration & Test and satellite qualification, including that of the ground support equipment
  • Interface with customers, subcontractors and suppliers as per program requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical/Electronics Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in systems engineering
  • Experience with full development cycle (from requirements engineering to testing campaign)

Key Skills

  • A proactive approach, with initiative and ability to work independently
  • Synthesize, summarize and draw conclusions
  • Familiarity with space systems, including knowledge of orbits, LEO environments etc.
  • Adhere to strict standards of confidentiality
  • Work in distributed international teams
  • Strength to cope with schedules and deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
