Role: QA Lead Engineer Employment Type: Full Time Educational Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/M.S/M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field.

Work Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in QA within the aerospace/automotive or satellite manufacturing industry. Hands-on experience with aerospace/space quality departments is highly desirable.

Role Description:
Team lead of QA group in the Space Department of Pixxel.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers specialising in aspects of both mechanical and electrical QA, ensuring discipline and high quality standards.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align QA activities with overall project goals.

  • Oversee QA activities across requirements, design, and manufacturing stages within electrical and mechanical engineering teams.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISRO PAX, NASA/ESA PA standards and guidelines).

  • Conduct detailed risk assessments, including FMECA, WCA, and reliability analysis.

  • Develop and implement QA checkpoints and processes to enhance product quality.

  • Lead various vendor/supplier/subcontractor-related source inspection and product assurance activities including technology/machinery audits and support ongoing supplier management in areas of product assurance.

  • Generate and manage Product Assurance documentation.

  • Establish and monitor processes to review and manage requests for deviations, waivers, and non-conformance of production reports.

  • Establish processes within the QA team to maintain quality control data and records collected during PA/QA management activities.

  • Witness manufacturing and testing activities from time-to-time, providing input as required, including at third-party facilities.

  • Participate in Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT) activities, ensuring adherence to quality standards.

  • Support the production team in establishing safety guidelines for development, manufacturing, testing, and handling of parts.

Desirable Skills & Certifications:

  • We are looking for a highly disciplined and motivated individual with experience in leading quality assurance/quality control for technology companies that specialize in aerospace/automotive manufacturing.

  • Expertise in both electrical and mechanical manufacturing with a solid understanding of design fundamentals, operating principles, manufacturing, and best practices.

  • Strong understanding of industry standards (ISRO PAX, NASA/ESA PA standards) and a working knowledge of reliability analysis, FMECA processes, and WCA processes.

  • Familiarity with 8D techniques and tools: proficient in preparing quality driven test plans, procedures, and reports for tests.
