Role Description:
As a key member of Pixxel’s Quality Assurance team, the Electro-Mech Quality Control Technician
is responsible for ensuring that all incoming and inhouse manufactured electrical and mechanical
parts and assemblies comply to the pre-defined requirements.
The candidate will drive quality assurance through incoming quality control, source inspection at
suppliers and internal in-process inspections. This position requires close collaboration with
manufacturing, AIT and supply chain teams to ensure quality requirements are met and space
hardware is accepted and delivered successfully.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Execute quality control of incoming electrical and mechanical parts as per inspectionplans created by quality engineers
Support quality engineers in inspections at suppliers’ facilities
Execute in-process inspections during satellite Assembly, Integration & Testing (AIT).
Document the inspection results in the internal MES system to ensure compliance with project, customer, and industry quality requirements.
Participate in subsystem and spacecraft-level integration and test campaigns.
Report nonconformances identified during inspections and follow-up on root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).
Support customer audits, internal audits, and quality reviews.
Work closely with quality engineers to plan and execute inspections for new missions
Desirable Skills & Certifications:
Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
Experience in inspecting electronic components, PCBAs, machined parts and electromechanical components.
Familiarity with quality standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, IPC-A-610, etc.
Able to operate and handle basic tools like Microscope, Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Vernier Caliper, Gauges, torque tools, ideally CMMs and VMMs
Familiar with cleanroom protocols and contamination control.
Good understanding of nonconformance reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
Troubleshooting and problem-solving capability.
Candidate Acumen:
A proactive quality professional who can independently manage electronics quality control activities, work effectively with internal teams, and contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality space hardware.
