Role Overview

The Finance Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the organization, driving effective financial controls, ensuring statutory compliance, and enabling business decision-making through insightful reporting and analysis. This role will partner closely with the leadership team and act as the custodian of financial governance at Tractor Junction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Controlling & Management
  • Oversee all accounting and finance operations including accounts receivable, credit control, and vendor management.
  • Implement and strengthen internal financial controls and compliance frameworks.
  • Ensure timely closing of books, reconciliations, and preparation of accurate financial statements.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
  • Drive Management Information System (MIS) reporting with actionable insights.
  • Conduct balance sheet analysis and variance analysis for business decision-making.
  • Taxation, Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance including GST, Income Tax, and other applicable laws.
  • Oversee tax planning to optimize tax efficiency.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Business Partnership & Oversight
  • Work with business teams on credit control and AR analysis to minimize bad debts.
  • Provide financial insights to drive growth, cost optimization, and margin improvements.
  • Manage subcontractor and vendor payment cycles effectively.
  • Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a finance and accounts team.
  • Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and strong ethics within the finance function.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Chartered Accountant with 8-12 years of relevant experience (startup or agri/marketplace exposure preferred).
  • Strong understanding of Indian accounting standards, taxation, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/MIS systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership, people management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
