Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Assistant with expertise in Insect Cell culture to join our research team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling and maintaining insect cell cultures for various research applications.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain insect cells for virus propagation and subsequent experiments.
- Cell culture medium preparation, stock management, and sterility testing.
- Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures, data, and observations.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to insect cell culture techniques, contamination, and suboptimal growth conditions.
- Document experimental procedures, data, and observations accurately and maintain detailed records.
- Inventory management, environmental monitoring, and sterility checks of media.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Virology, Biotechnology, or a related field with at least 2 years of experience as a Research Assistant.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in insect cell cultures.
- Extensive experience in working with insect cell cultures (Sf9, Sf21, Hi-five cells), including cell line maintenance, and manipulation.
- Familiarity with molecular biology techniques, such as DNA isolation, PCR, DNA cloning, and DNA sequencing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration within a team.
