The Opportunity
This is a dynamic B2B2C role that combines strategic business development with on-ground sales execution. You will drive the commercial success of Loopworm’s innovative aquaculture feed additives and supplements derived from sustainable insect proteins and fats. Our products are designed to improve attractability, palatability, productivity, feed intake, and reduce mortality in farmed aquaculture. As the BD Manager, you will work with feed additives/supplements manufacturers and standalone product distributors, rather than selling directly to aqua farmers. This role demands extensive travel to aquaculture hubs across India and abroad, farmer engagement for education and awareness, and the ability to crack customized deals with distributors and manufacturers. You will manage the complete business development cycle from positioning and trials to negotiations and closing deals, while representing Loopworm at key industry events.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive B2B sales of sustainable insect protein and fat-based aquaculture feed additives and supplements to feed additives/supplements manufacturers and product distributors serving aqua farmers in India and international markets
- Lead the complete business development cycle: lead generation, customer outreach, product positioning, technical demonstrations, trial coordination, and deal closure
- Develop and execute go-to-market (GTM) strategies and segmentation, targeting, and positioning (STP) strategies for aquaculture feed additives across target customer segments and geographies
- Travel extensively to aquaculture hubs across India (Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, and other key regions) and international markets to meet distributors, manufacturers, and conduct farmer education programs
- Engage with aqua farmers to educate them on the benefits of insect-based feed additives, building awareness and demand that drives pull-through sales via distributors and manufacturers
- Manage customer trials and test orders, coordinating with technical teams to ensure successful product validation and demonstrate improvements in attractability, palatability, productivity, and mortality reduction
- Negotiate and close customized deals with distributors and feed additives manufacturers, including pricing, volume commitments, supply terms, and partnership structures
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers in the aquaculture feed additives industry, including manufacturers, distributors, and industry associations
- Represent Loopworm at aquaculture trade events, conferences, farmer meets, and exhibitions to build brand presence and generate qualified leads
- Conduct market intelligence and competitive analysis in the aquaculture feed additives space to identify opportunities and inform product development and pricing strategies
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline management, and reporting using CRM tools
Who Should Apply
- Minimum 5 years of proven success in Business Development of aquaculture feed additives, animal nutrition products, or similar B2B agri/aqua products
- Strong understanding of the aquaculture industry, feed additives market, distribution channels, and farmer requirements in India and abroad
- Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi with strong presentation and negotiation capabilities
- High motivation and willingness to drive on-ground sales with extensive travel to aquaculture hubs across India and international markets
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex B2B2C sales cycles from lead generation through trial execution to contract closure
- Self-motivated individual who thrives in a startup environment with high ownership, accountability, and a hands-on approach
- Comfortable engaging with diverse stakeholders from manufacturers and distributors to farmers and industry associations
- Good to have: Verbal proficiency in regional Indian languages (Telugu, Bengali, Odiya, Tamil) and international languages (Spanish, Southeast Asian languages) for effective communication in key aquaculture markets
