The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to drive the commercial success of Loopworm’s breakthrough sustainable cell culture media components. We have developed innovative insect protein-derived alternatives to Tryptone, Yeastolates, and Fetal Bovine Serum that are transforming cell culture and precision fermentation industries. As the BD Manager, you will lead both domestic and international business development efforts, positioning these sustainable solutions with cell culture media manufacturers and precision microbial fermentation/cell culture product manufacturers. This role demands a strategic thinker who can manage the complete sales cycle from lead generation and product positioning to trial execution, negotiations, and closing deals, while representing Loopworm at key industry events and conferences.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive B2B sales of sustainable insect protein-derived cell culture media components (Tryptone, Yeastolates, and Fetal Bovine Serum alternatives) to cell culture media manufacturers and precision fermentation companies across domestic and international markets
- Lead the complete business development cycle: lead generation, customer outreach, product positioning, technical presentations, trial coordination, and closing deals
- Develop and execute go-to-market (GTM) strategies and segmentation, targeting, and positioning (STP) strategies for cell culture media components across target customer segments
- Manage customer trials and test orders, working closely with R&D and technical teams to ensure successful product validation and customer satisfaction
- Lead commercial negotiations including pricing, terms, contracts, and volume commitments with key accounts
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers in cell culture media manufacturing and precision fermentation industries
- Represent Loopworm at industry trade events, conferences, and exhibitions to build brand presence and generate qualified leads
- Conduct market intelligence and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and inform product development and pricing strategies
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline management, and reporting using CRM tools
Who Should Apply
- Minimum 2 years of proven success in Business Development of cell culture media components, fermentation ingredients, or similar B2B life sciences products
- Strong understanding of cell culture media manufacturing, precision fermentation, or biomanufacturing industries and customer requirements
- Excellent communication skills in English with strong presentation and negotiation capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex sales cycles from lead generation through trial execution to contract closure
- Experience in both domestic and export business development with understanding of international trade dynamics
- Self-motivated individual who thrives in a startup environment with high ownership and accountability
- Willingness to travel for customer meetings, trade shows, and industry conferences
