Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Vice President of Engineering to lead and oversee the engineering department, shaping the company's technology and product development strategy. The VP of Engineering will play a key leadership role in driving innovation, ensuring the engineering team delivers high-quality products on time, and maintaining a strong engineering culture. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong leadership skills to lead a diverse, cross-functional engineering organization.
Location: Gurgaon or Mumbai
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering Strategy & Roadmap:
- Work closely with the executive team to define the company’s technology vision, product roadmap, and strategic initiatives
- Lead the development and implementation of innovative digital solutions, products, and platforms that support fintech services within the clean energy sector (e.g., NBFC ops, asset ops etc)
- Ensure the engineering roadmap aligns with business objectives, balancing innovation with the needs of the business
- Oversee the development of scalable and reliable architectures that will support the company’s future growth
- Team Development & Management:
- Lead, manage, and mentor the engineering team, fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment
- Develop the team by hiring top-tier talent, supporting career growth, and promoting a culture of continuous learning and innovation
- Set clear performance expectations, provide feedback, and ensure that the team is aligned with the company’s mission, values, and goals
- Product Development:
- Drive product development from conception to delivery, ensuring timely and high-quality releases.
- Collaborate with product management, marketing, and sales teams to ensure engineering solutions meet customer and market needs.
- Implement best practices for agile development, continuous integration, and DevOps to improve product development cycles.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the management, product and business development teams to align engineering strategy with business goals and customer needs
- Collaborate with clean energy experts, regulatory bodies, and partners to ensure engineering solutions comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Engage with external partners, stakeholders, and investors to communicate the company’s engineering vision, capabilities, and competitive advantages
- Technical Leadership:
- Provide technical guidance and hands-on leadership to address complex engineering challenges and ensure architectural and engineering excellence
- Lead the adoption of modern engineering tools, processes, and technologies to improve development efficiency and product quality
- Stay ahead of industry trends and innovations, ensuring the company’s technology stack remains cutting-edge and competitive
- Security & Compliance:
- Oversee the implementation of robust cybersecurity practices to protect sensitive financial and energy data
- Ensure the company’s technology platforms adhere to financial industry regulations, clean energy standards, and data privacy laws
- Stay informed about global regulatory changes related to fintech and clean energy and ensure the company remains compliant
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (Master’s/MBA preferred).
- Experience:
- 12+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles, with a proven track record of managing and scaling engineering teams
- Experience in leading engineering for high-growth companies, preferably in a fintech or energy-related company
- Strong understanding of clean energy technologies, including renewable energy markets, carbon credits, sustainable financing, and regulatory frameworks is a plus
- Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and guide diverse teams
- Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to balance long-term vision with immediate business needs
- Expertise in building scalable, high-performing engineering organizations
